ART GYPSY LESSONS ON THE GO

PictureCLICK FOR ART JOURNAL
Art on the Go
Using an art journal is a great way to begin a journey in art. I have dozens of art journals, most of which are blank page journals. I created this art journal though to give artists ideas and things to do. Sometimes it's scary just seeing blank pages so this journal helps you get creative.

Scroll down for art ideas, I will add more later.
Here is a link to my student gallery.

Tepee ART I made these 2 projects with inspiration from my Rosebud Sioux heritage.
Both projects use recycled paper bags.
The flat tepee I just drew a triangle with a curved bottom and painted the designs.

The lighted tepee is made with sticks for the inside and paper bags covering it.
TIP- make paper bags look like old leather by opening and undoing the seams to make a big flat piece of paper. Then- CAREFULLY wrinkle and flatten until it looks like you want. You can also rub with clear or white candles or wax- have an adult heat it with a hair dryer and the wax melts into the paper for a better effect.

Use some string or wire to tie the sticks together- I also put sticks on the bottom- all the way around to stabilize it.
Glue torn pieces of the wrinkled paper to cover one section at a time- TEAR- DON'T CUT I used hot glue- if you do that ask an adult for help.

Overlapping makes cool shadows along the sticks- paint designs and VOILA!! You are done... I used a battery operated candle to light it up.

Bible ART - Recycled BOOK ART
This is a bible I got at a flea market, the margins were wide with space for notes so it is working out well. I painted the cover and decorated it with pieces from an old belt. I am using Crayola Twistables to draw and color on the pages as I read them.
